Madrid Bound

Oh, so did I mention …

we’re moving back. To Spain.

And by we, I mean me; Mario’s already there. Being his Spanish self.

I think he looks very Spanish here, hiking in the Castilla y León wilderness.

Did I really just say that? Yeah, I did—me, moving back to Spain.

This is me.

This is me in Spain.

There’s no difference; I just felt like doing that.

So yeah, this is happening. Me + Mario + new job for him + apartment hunting + moving to a new city + my brother’s wedding in September + starting the job in October

Wish us luck! And, all of my Spain ladies, see you in Spain?

Too awesome. Except, barf, I feel like your #iubb tweets are going to get replaced by Real Madrid ones, which, like I said, barf.
But seriously, I’m so excited for you!! Any idea what you’ll be doing work-wise yet?

Also I can’t hate RM, sorry, I hate all the Barcelona love. EW!

Nope, not yet. All we’re sure of is getting married, getting my residency, and Mario’s job. Once we get settled down, I’ll look for some work, although Mario’s friends already have ideas. (You know, of course, TEFL.)

I’ll be discovering it! I’ve not spent a ton of time there, but I’m excited to delve into the not-so-touristy things.

Yes, that’s one thing I’m super-pumped about–meeting a lot of my blog friends! My mom was worried about me being lonely, but she’ll see that there’s no way. Excited to do some Americanas in Madrid meet-ups as well!

Sevilla is on my list! I would love to see it. I’ve got to travel around Spain more (and everywhere else–benefit of living in Europe)!

When are you making the move? It seems like we might be trading places-I’m headed back to the States in August. Congrats, lots of exciting things on your plate. Glad you too get to reside on the same continent again.

I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I enjoy it very much. Congratulations on the move! I know how exciting it is to get to finally get back to the place you’ve been missing for forever. I don’t know Madrid very well, but if you’re ever in Galicia, I’d be happy to meet up!

So excited for you!! You should try to find a job that appeals to something you’ve always wanted to do… a just-for-fun type of job. I say this so I can have a partner in my adventures starting in July and so you can have a blast in Madrid being young with Mario! :) Oh, btw, you’re brother is getting married in September?! ;)

Hey I’m very happy for you! WOo ohooo! It seems like this is what you’ve really wanted for a while.
But am I mistaken, or didn’t you just start a master’s program? No judgement calls here: I totally dropped out of my master’s program and moved to Brazil. Just curious.

Haha, you’re mistaken. I’ve thought about it, but I’m not sure it’s the best thing for me right now! It’s always intriguing, though …

just chiming in as well to say you’re gonna love Madrid! I lived there as a student eons ago. took hubby to Spain for the first time 2 years ago and now he’s also in love w/Spain and we’re hoping to retire to Malaga in 8 years, assuming things go according to plan (read: Obama is reelected). I found your blog whilst perusing another blog that linked to yours. I love reading blogs about Spain!! me encanta España….. buena suerte a tí!!

Kaley, I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I love it. It makes me incredibly nostalgic for all things Spain. Sometimes I have to take lil vacations from reading to keep myself from getting too sad.
I was just catching up on how you are doing and I found this post. I got so excited when I saw that you were finally getting to go back… and then that you’re getting married!!! You’re a really lucky girl! Congrats and good luck to you!
